Avatar‘s $6.09 million Thursday pushed the film to a domestic cume of $380.54 million, past Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith for 10th all-time on the domestic list. The film’s worldwide cume stands at $1.138 billion (2nd all-time).
By the end of the weekend, Avatar will have easily passed the $400M mark and should settle somewhere at around the fifth to eighth all-time domestic performance. On the way past $400M, it’ll pass Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($402.112 million) as the highest grossing film of 2009.

So look for Avatar to be at between $420M to $436M by the end of the weekend. Before the daily chart, here’s the latest Avatar vs. The Dark Knight chart [through day 21--click to enlarge]:
Once again, Avatar continues to slowly but surely catch up and has out-performed The Dark Knight on a daily basis since day nine. My prediction range for the total domestic take of Avatar still holds at $550-625 million.
