Update: CHUD has chimed in on the rumor and have gotten confirmation from one of the film’s producers, Scott Stuber, that there is no truth at all to this rumor.
There is only one cut of the film and the only work being done to it at the moment is final mixing, scoring and special effects work.

This is getting fairly interesting. With only a month before release, The Playlist is reporting that the oft-delayed Universal Pictures remake of The Wolfman has added yet another editor to re-work the film. According to the site, Universal’s production president, Donna Langely, is working together with the new editor to put together a new cut. But to make matters worse, director Joe Johnston is reportedly cutting his own version of the film, which means there are two versions of the film in the works with just a month to go before release (February 12th).
It’s possible the studio will simply test both versions with audiences to see which one plays better (that’s actually not that uncommon), but the short time period between the current situation and release is a bit concerning.
The Wolfman is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12, 2010.
