20th Century Fox has confirmed that Bryan Singer will be directing X-Men Origins: First Class, as the director announced yesterday on the red carpet of the Avatar premiere (see related article). According to THR, the studio has tapped Jamie Moss to write a screenplay and work with Singer to develop the project:

Earlier in the day IESB reported a rumor that production on Spider-Man 4 was on indefinite hold over troubles involving the script, specifically the main villain (director Sam Raimi reportedly wants Vulture, while the studio heads want to use a more well-known villain).
