Update: It’s no longer just a possibility. The film has indeed been pushed back to January 14, 2011.
Original article follows below.
According to Shock Till You Drop, Screen Gems has pushed back the release of Resident Evil: Afterlife to January 14, 2011 (the film was originally scheduled to be released on August 27, 2010). STYD notes that the delay has to do with the extra time needed for post-production 3D processing work. However, star Milla Jovovich provided an update via her Twitter account refuting the news:
RE Afterlife IS NOT officially pushed. There have been talks of pushing it as they r not sure they can have it ready by july.
We r trying as hard as we can to still meet the summer deadline though, so for the moment its still on for Aug.
