Fox Developing New Animated Show From Jonah Hill + Adaptation of Peter Bagge’s The Bradleys

jonahhill-101609Fox, one of the only broadcast nets to heavily invest in animated fare, is expanding its development in the genre, picking up a presentation from actor Jonah Hill and also developing a script based on Peter Bagge’s graphic novel series The Bradleys.

Hill (“Superbad”) will provide voiceover services on his show, which he’ll write with scribes Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (“Yes Man”).

Project centers on a 7-year-old socialite who acts and talks like an adult — and finds himself out of his element when forced to attend public school.

Meanwhile, the network is also developing The Bradleys, which will be written by Peter Bagge and Matthew Lawton (“Crank Yankers”).

“The Bradleys,” which centers on a dysfunctional suburban family (through the eyes of teen Buddy Bradley), was first published in the early 1980s. It led to follow-ups “Neat Stuff” and “Hate.”

“I was obsessed with Peter Bagge’s comics when I was a teen,” Lawton said. “I ran away to Seattle at the age of 16, and was definitely this grumpy, disaffected punk kid.”
