Toy Story 3 Casting News and New Posters + Toy Story 1 and 2 3D Theatrical Run Extended

toystory3poster-icon-101309Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich announced today that the theatrical run of Toy Story / Toy Story 2 (3D) will be extended beyond its original end date.  It was originally scheduled to run for two weeks, but impressive box office receipts of $22.77 million have given Disney an incentive to keep it around for at least a bit longer.

In terms of  his upcoming movie, Toy Story 3, Unkrich revealed that Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) will voice a new character in the film.  He also announced that Blake Clark will take over as the voice of Slinky (Jim Varney passed away in 2000).

And lastly, head on over the jump to check out three more character posters from Toy Story 3 (these are in addition to the three I’ve already posted on the site: here and here).

Toy Story 3 hits conventional and 3D theaters on June 18, 2010. Continue reading Toy Story 3 Casting News and New Posters + Toy Story 1 and 2 3D Theatrical Run Extended

Fox Will Air All 13 Episodes of Dollhouse

The recently released DVR data was very good news for the low-rated Fox series Dollhouse.  According to the data, it showed that the season two premiere increased an enormous 50%, going from a 1.0 A18-49 rating to a 1.5 A18-49 rating.  That increase bodes well for the show, at least for its initial 13-episode [...]

Stargate Universe Flat in Week Two; Sanctuary S2 Premiere Down

stargateuniverse-101309Week two of Syfy’s new original series Stargate Universe drew 2.4 million viewers, on par with last week’s series premiere which drew 2.35 million viewers.  While flat, it’s actually a fairly good sign that the show held week-to-week in total audience.  I actually expected a decline.  It’ll be interesting to see what happens next week because, frankly, I found the third episode (week two) incredibly weak.

Never the less, it’s important to note the positive increases, especially in the key demos (both A18-49 and A25-54). The show drew 1.37 million A18-49 (+22% from last week’s 1.12M) and 1.49 million A25-54 (+13% from last week’s 1.32M).

Meanwhile, the season two premiere of Sanctuary drew 1.85 million viewers (down a significant 31% from last year’s series premiere of 2.7 million).  Among the demos, it drew 946,000 A18-49 and 1.15M A25-54. As with total viewers, that was down a significant 12% among A18-49 (from 1.08M) and 18% among A25-54 (from 1.40M) from last season’s premiere.

On the plus side, the show was on par with last season’s finale (2 million total viewers, 900,000 A18-49 and 1.13M A25-54).

Syfy’s press release — which, of course, contains a fair amount of spin — follows after the jump. Continue reading Stargate Universe Flat in Week Two; Sanctuary S2 Premiere Down
