The third season premiere of AMC’s Emmy Award-winning drama series Mad Men drew a record 2.76 million viewers Sunday night, an impressive 34% above the show’s second season premiere (2.06 million).
The series also notched a record among adults 18-49 drawing 1.24 million within that demo (the show drew 1.43 million viewers in the Adults 25-54 demo). In total viewers, Mad Men just slightly edged out the premiere of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami on E!, which drew 2.67 million viewers. That was E! largest audience for a series since a 2002 episode of The Anna Nicole Show.
While it didn’t beat Mad Men in initial viewership, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami drew more viewers when the first repeat is included (3.81M vs. 3.65M) and the show also seriously out-performed the AMC series among the key A18-49 demographic (2.02M vs. 1.24M).
Mad Men airs Sunday’s at 10:00 p.m. on AMC. And you can catch Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami on E!, also at 10:00 p.m.
