Ponyo Movie Trailer #2 Released

ponyo-073109Walt Disney Pictures has released the second movie trailer for Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki’s, Ponyo.

Ponyo is already a smash hit worldwide, grossing $183.7 million from nine markets, including $164.6 million from Japan, $6.9 million from France and $6.9 million from South Korea.  Watch the trailer after the jump.

Billy Crudup Joins Columbia’s Eat, Pray Love

Billy Crudup has joined the cast of Columbia Pictures adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love. Crudup will play Steven, who is married to Julia Roberts’ character Gilbert. Javier Bardem and Richard Jenkins also.  The project is being directed by Ryan Murphy from a script he wrote with Jennifer Salt.

Universal Pictures Developing A Remake of Jesus Christ Superstar

Universal Pictures and producer Marc Platt are developing a remake of Jesus Christ Superstar and Platt and the studio are eying (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to helm the project.

Norman Jewison’s original film was released in 1973, a year after Tim Rice’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s broadway show.

TCA 2009: Larry David Details Seinfeld Reunion on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm

Jon Favreau Would Like To Do Iron Man 3 in 3-D + New Iron Man 2 Viral

In an interview with MTV News, Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2) revealed that he’s encouraged by what he’s seen of 3-D technology and would like to use the tech in the next film in the franchise, or perhaps even The Avengers, which doesn’t have a director yet: “I really love the 3-D,” the “Iron Man 2″ director told us at Comic-Con, echoing the recent sentiments of Marvel Studios honcho Kevin Feige. “I think ‘Up’ was probably my favorite movie I’ve seen this year.”
