UPDATE: Oldman stepped the comments back a bit in an interview with AICN: “well, I’m sure they want to do another one… it might 2 or 3 years…”
Original article follows below
During the panel presentation for WB’s The Book of Eli, co-star Gary Oldman — who played Lt./Commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight — revealed that shooting on a sequel to The Dark Knight will begin next year, with a release expected the following year: “The next batman is next year, so I think it is two years away. But you didn’t hear it from me.”
Christopher Nolan is busy working on his next film, the psychological sci-fi thriller Inception and has yet to commit to a third Batman, so this is pretty surprising news if true. I sure hope WB isn’t fast-tracking the project at the expense of not having Nolan behind the camera.
