I failed to report on this last week and given that it’s a fairly high profile addition, I didn’t want to skip it. A little more than a week ago Marvel Studios confirmed that Natalie Portman would star opposite Chris Hemsworth in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming adaptation of Thor. Portman will play the nurse Jane Foster, Thor’s first love.
In other casting news, Variety is reporting that Nicolas Cage is in talks with Columbia Pictures to come on board the Michel Gondry-directed film The Green Hornet. Cage would play the gangster villain in the project, which stars Seth Rogen (who co-wrote the script with Evan Goldberg) in the lead role.
Despite the studio looking to replace Stephen Chow who was originally going to play sidekick Kato, the project is moving forward and on track for a fall start date.
The Green Hornet is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2010, while Thor is scheduled to hit theaters on May 20, 2011.
