Sony Pictures has released the full theatrical trailer for the upcoming animated 3-D feature film Planet 51. The film features an extensive voice cast including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Gary Oldman, Jessica Biel, and John Cleese. Check out the trailer after the jump.
Planet 51 hits conventinal and IMAX theaters on November 20, 2009.

Universal Pictures has won out in a four-studio bidding war for the film rights to the classic video game Asteroids. The studio has set Matthew Lopez to write the script for the game-to-film adaptation and Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce.
Asteroids was first released as an Arcade game in 1979, before hitting the home video game market [...]

Sony Pictures has pushed back the release of The Green Hornet to July 9, 2010. The Seth Rogen-starrer was originally scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2010. Adam Sandler’s upcoming comedy Grown Ups, meanwhile will get that June 25, 2010 release.

Sad news for fans hoping to see a big-screen adaptation of the canceled-too-soon UPN/CW drama Veronica Mars. Here’s what star Kristen Bell told EW at last weekend’s Saturn Awards:

A new take on Alien Nation, the 1988 feature-turned-Fox-TV-series, is being developed by SCI FI. Tim Minear (Angel, Firefly) is writing the script for the project. Chris Carlisle, head at Fox 21 who is producing, told Variety that they believe the series could be just as successful as another recent remake/reboot; Battlestar Galactica:
