Steven Spielberg To Produce Martin Luther King Jr. Biopic for DreamWorks

DreamWorks Pictures has acquired the life rights Martin Luther King Jr., and has tapped Steven Spielberg to produce a biopic on the civil rights leader for the big-screen.  Via Variety:

Three Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen TV Spots

DreamWorks Pictures has released three new TV spots for the upcoming Michael Bay-directed sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24, 2009.

The CW Picks Up The Beautiful Life, Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries; But Passes on Gossip Girl Spinoff and Cancels Privileged and The Game [Update: Reaper and 'Chris' Also Canceled]

The CW has officially picked up three shows to series: The Beautiful Life, Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries.  All three shows were rumored to be picked up for some time.

Meanwhile, the Gossip Girl spinoff is officially dead.

In cancellation news, The CW has axed two shows: dramedy Privileged and the comedy The Game.

CBS Picks Up Medium from NBC; Renews Numb3rs, HIMYM, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement and ‘Old Christine’; Cancels ‘Unit’, Without a Trace and ‘11th Hour’

NBC Announces 8 New Shows for 2009/2010 Schedule; Cancels Medium (Moving to CBS) and My Name Is Earl

NBC’s 2009/2010 slate of programming includes nine new shows.  The network picked up four dramas, two comedies and two alternative/reality series: 100 Questions, Day One, Mercy, Trauma, Community, Parenthood, The Jay Leno Show and The Marriage Ref.
