UPDATES

Updated @ 10:45pm on 5/20/2009: The schedule is out.  The biggest shocker/surprise is that Smallville has been moved to Friday night.  The new drama Vampire Diaries will take its Thursday at 8:00pm time slot, while Supernatural is staying put at 9:00pm. Check out the complete schedule after the jump.

Updated @ 2:45pm on 5/19/2009: The Beautiful Life also picked up to series.  Network also confirmed that Privileged has been canceled.  Made the necessary changes to both shows on the above lists. Additionally, the Gossip Girl spinoff is dead. [EW]

Updated @ 2:35pm on 5/19/2009: The CW has picked up the previously rumored pickup Melrose Place. I’ve gone ahead and moved it from the Rumored New Show Pickups list to the New Show Pickups list. [Spoiler-TV]

Updated @ 1:35pm on 5/18/2009: The CW has picked up the previously rumored pickup Vampire Diaries. I’ve gone ahead and moved it from the Rumored New Show Pickups list to the New Show Pickups list. [DHD]

Updated @ 9:30pm on 5/14/2009: THR reports that modeling drama Beautiful Life, Life Unexpected (formerly Light Years) and on-the-bubble freshman drama Privileged are battling it out for a third pickup (after Melrose Place and Vampire Diaries).  THR also says that the Gossip Girl spinoff is in consideration for midseason.

And for Reaper fans, here’s some potentially good news.  While the show is likely not going to be renewed by The CW, apparently ABC Studios (the show’s producer) is in talks with The CW affiliates about continuing the show in syndication (perhaps on Sunday nights–see a recent article on this).  ABC Studios is also considering moving the show to cable.  Just to note, while either situation is possible, they’re both considered longshots.

And finally, Micheal Ausiello has Everybody Hates Chris listed as “a goner” on his Fall TV survival list, so I’m going to add a (C) next to it on the Fate Unknown list.  Makes sense.  While the show started off very strong, it’s fallen off pretty hard in recent years.

Updated @ 11:25pm on 5/13/2009: Three pilots look good for pickups: Melrose Place, The Beautiful Life and Vampire DiariesLight Years is “not dead yet”, while the Gossip Girl spinoff doesn’t look like it’ll be picked up. [Deadline Hollywood Daily]
