The NBA playoffs are playing well on the court and off, as news comes in that TNT has set cable records for their first-round NBA Playoff contest Thursday. Nielsen estimates that the Chicago Bulls’ 128-127 triple overtime victory averaged 5.35 million viewers, easily cable’s top program for the night in most key categories.
The rating makes the game the highest-rated NBA opening-round playoff game in cable to date. The season’s previous high was the 3.82 million who tuned into the Los Angeles Lakers/Utah Jazz contest the week prior.
