New Star Trek Clip

Tonight’s episode of Lost featured an exclusive clip of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.  The clip features James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) on the ice planet being chased by a very large creature.  Watch the clip after the jump.

U.K. Office Coming To Adult Swim

Adult Swim, the late-night channel on Cartoon Network, has acquired the rights to the original version of The Office from BBC Worldwide.  Both seasons of the U.K. comedy, plus the Christmas special, will air on Adult Swim this Summer.

The Office was created, written and directed by star Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

Tom Stoppard Rewriting Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood

Roger Friedman — the former Fox journalist fired for reviewing a leaked copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine — reports on his new site Showbiz 411 that Tom Stoppard has been brought in to do a complete “top to bottom” rewrite of the project.

NBC Renews Celebrity Apprentice

NBC has renewed the Donald Trump series Celebrity Apprentice for another season.  NBC says the new season will kick off in spring 2010.

Season to date, The Celebrity Apprentice has performed well, especially in the key A18-49 demographic where it has averaged a 3.5 rating/9 share.  Overall, the show has averaged 8.6 million viewers.

Gervais’ Flanimals Getting 3D Bigscreen Treatment

Universal Pictures-based Illumination Entertainment is working on a 3D animated feature based on the Ricky Gervais children’s book series Flanimals.

Gervais will voice the lead character, while the script will be written by Matt Selman (The Simpsons).  Via Variety:
