It’s finally official. Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in Terminator Salvation. But there’s a catch: it’ll be a digital representation of him. The current California Governor has been working with director McG and the effects team to reprise his signature role.
To make it happen, a body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared in the franchise, was used to provide the basis for a digital-effects version of his character. The figure will appear in the film as a living, breathing actor. The go-ahead was given after Schwarzenegger viewed the resulting footage, just in time for McG to include it in his completed cut.
Terminator Salvation hits theaters on May 21, 2009.
