Turns out that Nikki Finke’s post yesterday (see related article) about David Slade in contention for directing duties on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was correct, as Summit Entertainment has confirmed the hire.

Warner Bros. has announced two new promotions for Blu-ray. The first, called Red2Blu caters to HD DVD owners who are looking to convert their current HD DVD collection to Blu-ray, while the other offers customers a free Blu-ray disc after the purchase of five through April 6, 2010. In an interview with Forbes about the future of Hollywood, Sony Picture Entertainmet’s co-chairmen Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton discussed the possibility of doing Spider-Man 4 in 3D:
Forbes: Are you considering doing any live action movies in 3-D? What about Spider-Man 4?

Disney will debut footage from the 3D Robert Zemeckis feature A Christmas Carol at a press event at the Festival de Cannes on May 18. This will be the second Disney 3D film featured at the event, following the studio’s previous announcement that Pixar’s Up would open up the event (see related article).
