Year One Rating Changed to PG-13

yearone-041009Year One, the new comedy from director Harold Ramis and star Jack Black, has been rated PG-13 after the filmmakers made some necessary cuts to the film.

The film went before the MPAA’s Classification and Rating Appeals Board on Tuesday, who upheld the R rating (for “some secual content and language) initially given to the film, despite both Apatow and Ramis personally appearing before the board to argue for a more audience-friendly PG-13 rating.

After the filmmakers made the changes, the board gave it a PG-13 rating “fro crude and sexual content throughout, brief strong language and comic violence.”

Year One, which also stars Michael Cera, hits theaters on June 19, 2009.
