The HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down has been renewed by the network for a second season. Production on the new episodes will get underway this year, and the show will premiere its second season in 2010.
Eastbound & Down debuted on February 15th relatively poorly with just 671,000 viewers, but the show gained steam over its six-episode run, peaking with 950,000 viewers on March 15th and closing out its freshman season the following week with 904,000 (+35% above its premiere).
‘Eastbound & Down’s’ raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season,” HBO West Coast chief Michael Lombardo said.
