Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that NBC is considering canceling My Name Is Earl due to low ratings and rising costs. The more interesting development though involves the possibility of the show moving over to Fox (20th Century Fox produces it):
So word is that Kevin Reilly could pick up the show, which he originally developed when he was NBC Entertainment prez, for the Fox network, where he is now.
My Name Is Earl is doing pretty bad in the ratings this season, but the show is in its fourth year and approaching the important syndication goal of 100 episodes (it’ll be at 96 by the end of the current season). When it comes to syndication money, Fox sees value in keeping it on the air for at least one more season.
Personally I don’t care one way or the other. I stopped watching somewhere around the end of the second season/beginning of the third. Just thought it got stale real quick.
