Fox is in the process of finalizing a deal with actress/comedian Wanda Sykes for a new late-night show that will air on Saturday night’s. The hour-long series, slated to premiere in the fall, will succeed the recently canceled sketch comedy series Mad TV, which is going off the air after 13 seasons.
According to THR, the talk show will be topical and feature a panel of recurring guests that will be sparring over issues ranging from politics and pop culture. It will also include Sykes filing field reports.
In related news, Fox hasn’t yet made a decision on the other Saturday late-night show, Talk Show With Spike Feresten.
