The FX network has announced that Nip/Tuck will receive three more seasons, ending its run in early 2011 and The Shield will begin its final season in September. Diablo Cody has been hired to write an currently untitled comedy script for DreamWorks Pictures that is based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg. Details of the project are being kept under tight wraps by the studio. There are no producers yet attached.

Although Marvel Studios’ Iron Man was a major success this summer (with over $560 million in worldwide box office and still climbing), the studio has decided to go in another direction with the screenplay. Marvel Studios has announced that they’ve hired actor/filmmaker Justin Theroux to pen the sequel.
