People Magazine is reporting that Britney Spears is returning to guest star in CBS’s sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Spears’ original guest-starring role resulted in the show posted a series high in adults 18-49 (a 4.5/12 rating/share).

SCI FI has announced that they’ve added additional episodes to two of its non-scripted series. The network has added 13 additional episodes to Ghost Hunters, now in its fourth season and seven more episodes to Destination Truth. [THR]

Fox has officially confirmed that they’ve renewed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a second season. The network has picked up 13 episodes of the series, Variety reports. Empire Online has posted three new photos from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which opens in theaters on August 15th. The movie will be followed by the TV series on Cartoon Network and TNT in the fall. Continue through the jump to check out the images.

Viacom, Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate have announced a joint venture to launch a new premium pay cable network.
