Broadcast TV Ratings for Friday, March 28, 2008

Powered by a better than average performance from Dateline, NBC took first place on Friday night among households, just narrowly beating CBS, which took the night among both viewers and adults 18-49 thanks to its NCAA Basketball Tournament coverage.

Elsewhere on the evening, a new timeslot for Canterbury’s Law didn’t help the series in terms of ratings.  ‘Law’ was off by 15% (-840,000) among viewers and 29% among adults 18-49 from its last newly aired episode in its original Monday night timeslot.

NBC finished in first place for the evening with a 5.8/10 household rating/share, but was second among both viewers (8.71 million) and adults 18-49 (2.6/8 rating/share).

CBS followed in second place for the evening with a 5.7/10 household rating/share, but managed stronger first place finishes among both viewers (8.84 million) and adults 18-49 (3.1/10 rating/share).
