First Look: Snake Eyes from “G.I. Joe”

Paramount has released two new images from the upcoming Stephen Sommers-directed G.I. Joe movie. The images are of the mute, faceless, black-clad ninja commando Snake Eyes. The character is played by Ray Park.  USA Today has also has a new story up on the film. Check out two images of the character, along with some highlights of the article after the jump.

From the article:

“He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock,” says director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy and Van Helsing). “His chief nemesis is arguably the world’s other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.”

“There are quite a few characters in it, and almost certainly a character in which an audience member can see themselves, or want to be,” he says.

i often wonder about people’s fascination with faceless, mute, powerful, martial arts expert superhero like snake eyes. maybe it’s the ultimate fantasy. it is a shame though, ray park is awesome and cute and i think he should take on roles where he can show his face and speak!
