Get ready. Variety is reporting that the trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be hitting theaters and the web next week. The teaser trailer will be attached to The Spiderwick Chronicles on February 14 and be available to view online shortly thereafter.
Variety notes that the reason for the delay of getting the teaser out (after all, Star Trek premiered their trailer several weeks ago despite the fact that Indy 4 hits theaters six months before Star Trek) is because the film only recently wrapped and a lot of the material they want in the trailer wasn’t available until recently.
So what could be in the trailer?
“In the case of Indiana Jones, he’s such a well-known character that it’s not like you have to get out there and introduce something new,” said Spielberg spokesman Marvin Levy. “You tailor the campaign to the material. We also want to keep a lot of the surprises. That’s part of the fun.”
Oh, and another photo has been released. This one was taken from an Italian magazine and is of Shia LaBeouf (Mutt Williams) and Cate Blanchett’s (Irina Spalko) characters:
