Broadcast TV Ratings for Friday, January 25, 2008

With a third of its lineup in repeats, CBS still manages to take the win among households and viewers thanks to a Garth Brooks music special.

NBC settled in for second place, but was the nights most-watched network among adults 18-49, thanks in large part to 1 vs. 100 (#1 for the night among households, viewers and adults 18-49).

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 4.8/8 household rating/share and 7.36 million viewers, but fell to third place among adults 18-49 with a 1.8/5 rating/share.

FOX finished in third place for the evening with a 4.2/7 household rating/share and 6.52 million viewers, but managed a second place finish among adults 18-49 with a 2.0/6 rating/share.

  • 9:00 p.m.: And that was followed by a repeat of House (4.9/8 HH rating/share, 7.63M viewers, 2.3/7 A18-49 rating/share).

ABC followed in fourth place for the evening with a 3.2/5 household rating/share, but fell to fifth place for the evening among both viewers (4.49 million) and adults 18-49 (1.3/4 rating/share).

  • 8:00 p.m: A repeat of Grey’s Anatomy (2.7/5 HH rating/share, 3.86M viewers, 1.0/3 A18-49 rating/share).
  • 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of Desperate Housewives (2.5/4 HH rating/share, 3.56M viewers, 1.0/3 A18-49 rating/share).
  • 10:00 p.m.: And lastly, an original episode of 20/20 (4.2/7 HH rating/share, 6.06M viewers, 1.8/6 A18-49 rating/share).
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 4.3/8 to 4.2/7
      • Viewers – 6.23M to 6.06M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.8/5 to 1.8/6

The CW finished in fifth place for the evening with a 2.7/5 household rating/share, but was a stronger fourth place among both viewers (4.85 million) and adults 18-49 (1.4/4 rating/share).

    • 4.75M viewers [#5]
    • 1.5/5 A18-49 rating [#4]
  • 8:00 p.m.: Friday Night Smackdown! (2.7/5 HH rating, 4.85M viewers, 1.4/4 A18-49 rating).
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 2.8/5 to 2.7/5
      • Viewers – 4.77M to 4.85M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.5/5 to 1.4/4

  • I agree lou, one of my favorite shows, and I’m really enjoying it this season.

    I’m grateful to NBC for giving it another season (and a full one at that). Hopefully it’s ratings are strong enough to warrant another year.
