Broadcast TV Ratings for Thursday, January 24, 2008

CBS and Fox split the evening with CBS taking the win among households and viewers, while Fox won the night among adults 18-49 thanks to a two-hour edition of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?.

Elsewhere on the evening, the first of two episodes of Chuck opened NBC at 8:00 p.m. with weaker ratings than its last newly aired episode (which occurred on a Monday), but the show did manage to show some growth by the second episode at 10:00.

Also on NBC, Celebrity Apprentice was again the nights most-watched program among adults 18-49, helping the network secure second place in the demo for the evening.

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 7.5/12 household rating/share and 11.21 million viewers, but was third among adults 18-49 with a 2.6/7 rating/share.

  • 10:00 p.m.: And a repeat of Without a Trace (8.1/14 HH rating/share, 11.74M viewers, 2.8/8 A18-49 rating/share) ended the evening for CBS.

Fox followed in second place for the evening with a 6.4/10 household rating/share and 10.32 million viewers, but managed a strong first place finish among adults 18-49 with a 3.2/8 rating/share.

NBC finished in a tie for third place for the evening with a 4.9/8 household rating/share, was alone in third among viewers with 7.59 million, and was a bit stronger among adults 18-49, where the network placed second for the evening with a 3.1/8 rating/share.

      • Viewers – 17.68M
      • Adults 18-49 – 7.1/17
  • 10:00 (10:02) p.m.: And an original episode of Big Shots (3.6/6 HH rating/share, 4.97M viewers, 1.8/5 A18-49 rating/share) ended the evening for ABC.

      • Households – 3.4/6 to 3.6/6
      • Viewers – 4.70M to 4.97M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.8/5 to 1.8/5

The CW was left in fifth place earning a 1.3/2 household rating/share, 1.98 million viewers and a 0.7/2 rating/share among adults 18-49.
