The History Channel’s Life After People, a two-hour special which looks at what would happen to planet Earth if the human race were to suddenly disappear, debuted with a record breaking 5.4 million viewers.
As noted, the performance was the highest ever for the network, eclisping the prior record of 4.8 million viewers achieved by last year’s season finale of Ice Road Truckers (related story here).
Additionally, the series drew a strong 2.1/5 rating/share among adults 18-49, the top performance on cable in that demo from 9:00-11:00 p.m. on Monday night.
