Still doing well in the box office, it’s being reported that author Richard Matheson has signed off on the sequel rights to I Am Legend.
Approaching $210 million in domestic receipts (and over $335 million worldwide), Warner Bros. securing rights for a sequel shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that a sequel will be made, it just gives WB the option to do one should everything come together correctly. If a sequel does happen, it’ll be the first time the material has ever spun two films.
