Warner Bros. Announces Exclusive Support of Blu-ray [Update: Toshiba Responds]

Warner Bros. today officially announced that they will be exclusively supporting Blu-ray over rival format HD DVD. The studio will support both formats through May 2008, at which point all future releases will be made on Blu-ray.

NBC continues to perform well with their season premieres, as the network manages a solid tie for first among households, was just 30,000 viewers away from first among total viewers, and posted a tie for first among adults 18-49.

Want to check out the premiere episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles before its airs on Fox?  Well Yahoo! has you covered.  Beginning 9:00 P.M. PT/Midnight ET on Friday, January 4, the episode will be available to view for 24 hours.

“Lost Boys 2″ Going Straight to DVD

Fans of the hit 80’s film The Lost Boys will have to go out and purchase the sequel Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.  Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that the film will not be hitting theaters, and will instead be heading straight to DVD.

“I Am Legend” Sequel Rights Secured

Still doing well in the box office, it’s being reported that author Richard Matheson has signed off on the sequel rights to I Am Legend.

Del Toro Ready for “Frankenstein”

Director Guillermo Del Toro is prepping a version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Telling MTV News that he’s “always been” interested in directing a version of Frankenstein, Del Toro said he’s hard at work in pre-production.
