‘Terminator 4′ Details

Several details have been revealed about the Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, including the limited role that John Connor (played by Christian Bale) will have on the film.  Details after the jump.

CHUD is reporting the following details on the film:

John Connor is not the main character of Terminator 4; that character is someone named Marcus. Marcus was put ‘out of commission’ before the nuclear holocaust on Judgment Day and he wakes up about 15 years before the future we see in the original Terminator films, which puts the movie at about 2015 or so. Marcus is a bad ass – think along the lines of Riddick – and what he finds is a blasted world filled with horror. Radiation poisoning, starvation, rampant jaywalking – all the things you expect post-apocalypse. There’s also John Connor, who is trying to build a utopian society while running the human resistance.

Connor’s role is apparently bigger in the second film; whoever they hire for Marcus (my understanding is that the part is not yet cast) will be around for all three films. Terminator 4 is going to be the most male-centric of all the Terminator films, but there is a butt busting female character by the name of Blair, a pilot for the human resistance.

Trashing the hero of the future that we’ve spent all this time handholding along and pretend that anything that matters in the past (time travel flicks anyone?) is relevant is pretentious bordering on arrogant.

Particularly given this movie moves on from T3 but pretends to be its own ‘new trilogy’ when it could just as readily be based on T1 or T2.

Better by far to stop pretending it’s ‘Terminator’.

As for the busting pilot. Why does her gender matter in a ‘male centric’ film? What are you gonna fly in 2015 without a runway or spare parts?

I suppose it could be a WIG but that’s not a combat aircraft…

All the HKs /should be/ fully unmanned (UCAVs).

And AIR FORCES work in hunting packs. Faaaaaar away from the trashfire. Only soldiers get dirty enough to look like they mean it on screen.

Show me a script or I’ll keep my money.
