MLB Playoffs Solid on TBS

The transition of the baseball playoffs to TBS was a success, with the first three games on Wednesday scoring slightly higher numbers than the comparable opening of the playoffs last year on ESPN and Fox.

Three consecutive games this past Wednesday on TBS (from 1:30 p.m. to beyond midnight) scored an average audience of 4.54 million viewers (a 3.6 household rating). That’s slightly above the 4.48 million average drawn by two games on ESPN and one on Fox last year.

Here are the breakdown’s in viewership for the three games:

Colorado Rockies at Philadelphia Phillies — 3.17 million viewers (2.6 HH rating)
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Boston Red Sox — 5.46 million viewers (4.3 HH rating)
Chicago Cubs at Arizona Diamondbacks — 5.19 million viewers (4.0 HH rating)
