“Half the jokes wouldn’t be understood.” ? If you’re a moron, I suppose not. I have watched every episode from both seasons and there are only a few mild references that a quick google would resolve. Not all Americans have the IQ of those that voted for Bush. ;-)

UK version is too British for U.S. mainstream viewers. Half the jokes wouldn’t be understood.

I’m skeptical of how good this U.S. adaptation could be, but I’d definitely hope it could be as half as funny as the UK version. Does this mean no new UK episodes because Richard Ayoade (Moss) will be State-side doing the U.S. version?

Yes, please, PLEASE, by all means, air the British version instead! Now I am a full-blooded American, but I don’t even want to think about how badly NBC might butcher IT by trying to “adapt it” (read: “dumb it down”) for an American audience.

Imagine an attempt to Americanize “Monty Python’s Flying Circus.”

I really hope they keep the show around, the British version is so good and hopefully the American one will be good too.
