Apparently his hiring for hosting duties for Fox’s Super Bowl presentation wasn’t enough for Ryan Seacrest, as he’s also now been tapped to host the upcoming Emmy Awards.
Fox announced that Ryan Seacrest has been chosen to host the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, favoring him due to his experience from hosting American Idol.
Seacrest met with executive producer of the event Ken Ehrlich last week to discuss the show, and said the following about the traditional monologue:
“I don’t feel like I need to do a song and dance and 15 minutes of jokes,” he said. “The way I’m looking at the whole show, it’s about elevating everyone on their night, as opposed to making it my night … I’m not going to pretend to be something I’m not. I plan to honor the class and the heritage of the Emmy.”
This year’s Emmy telecast will take place on September 16th at the Shrine Auditorium and will be broadcast by Fox.
