In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone, TNT has announced that they’ve renewed their hit drama series The Closer for a fourth season. Ordering 15 episodes of the Kyra Sedgwick starring series. The fourth season will premiere next summer.
According to the press release, The Closer has improved in all major categories compared against last season, averaging 2.4 million adults 18-49 (+13% vs. same number of episodes last season); 3.158 million adults 25-54 (+15%); 7.747 million viewers (+19%); and 5.622 million households (+14%). It’s ad-supported cable’s most watched program.
Also worth noting from the press release, is the show’s solid growth when time-shifted viewing is added in (Same Day + 7 Day): +582,000 adults 18-49; +679,000 adults 25-54; +1.259 million viewers and +812,000 households, making the show ad-supported cable’s most DVR-ed drama series.
The current season is averaging a 6.0 coverage household rating/5.0 national rating. (Note: The coverage rating is based against only the households who are capable of receiving TNT, while the national rating is based against all television equipped households in the country).
