Fox wins the evening with ease, taking the night among households, viewers and adults 18-49 takes to a constant and strong performance from Hell’s Kitchen and a special airing of ‘5th Grader‘.

FOX finished in first place for the evening with a 5.2/9 household rating, 8.64 million viewers and a 3.5/11 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 3.8/6 HH rating [#3]
    • 6.05M viewers [#2]
    • 2.9/9 A18-49 rating [#1]
  • 8:00 p.m.: Airing outside its normal Thursday time slot a special airing of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? (5.2/9 HH rating, 8.49M viewers, 2.8/10 A18-49 rating) boosted Fox’s Monday average, proving the show has an audience no matter what night it airs on.
  • 9:00 p.m.: Hell’s Kitchen (5.2/8 HH rating, 8.79M viewers, 4.1/12 A18-49 rating) kept things strong for Fox, as it not only grew from last week’s episode among households and viewers, but also grew respectably from its lead-in, leading the night among all main categories.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 5.0/8 to 5.2/8

    • 6.71M viewers [#1]
    • 2.1/6 A18-49 rating [#3]
  • CBS was actually just as strong as it always is on Monday nights with repeats, it was just beaten this week by Fox’s different, and obviously effective, program schedule.

In fact, the A18-49 rating of last week’s Extreme Makeover was actually stronger than the CMA Music Festival.

Note: Network average numbers from the week prior are based on fast national data. Comparison’s from the week prior (or episode-to-episode, etc.) on specific shows are based on final national data. Ratings for the current day are based on fast nationals. (Expect all three scenarios to be the case at all times, unless otherwise noted). The final rating for first-run episodes that aired this evening will be reported the following week. So for example, the final rating for tonights episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” will be reported in next weeks report for Monday, July 30, 2007.

Also keep in mind that because these are fast national ratings, numbers may increase or decrease when the final nationals are released.
