According to Variety, a trio of today’s top animators (Fred Seibert, Kevin Kolde and Eric Gardner) have teamed up to form their own production company called Frederator Films, and their first project will be feature length adaptation of the Cartoon Network series Samurai Jack. The tree animators will serve as producers of the project, as well any other future projects.
The script will be penned by the original series’ creator, Genndy Tartakovsky.
Here are the first planned projects from the film company:
Samurai Jack, a feature version of the Cartoon Network skein. The creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, is attached to write and direct.
The Neverhood, a claymation feature based on the DreamWorks videogame of the same name. Doug TenNapel, who created the game, is aboard to write and direct.
The Seven Deadly Sins” a hip-hop project with Don King hired as the first voice actor.
It’s important to note that none of the films have gone into production, they are all still in the planning stages.
