Broadcast TV Ratings for Friday, June, 22, 2007

A weak night overall goes to CBS among households and viewers, while the network ties with The CW among adults 18-49.

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 3.8/7 household rating and 5.43 million viewers and was tied for first among adults 18-49 with a 1.3/5 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 5.7/11 HH rating [#1]
    • 8.36M viewers [#1]
    • 2.0/8 A18-49 [#1]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of Ghost Whisperer (3.0/6 HH rating, 4.24M viewers, 1.1/5 A18-49 rating) began the evening for CBS a bit lower than usual and well off from the more impressive numbers from last week’s re-broadcast of the final episode with Barker as the host. The hour was off by 4.18 million viewers (50%), 44% among households and 48% among adults 18-49.
    • Last week’s numbers (Price is Right-Final Barker Episode):
      • Households – 5.4/11
      • Viewers – 8.42M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.1/9
  • 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of Close to Home (4.0/8 HH rating, 5.79M viewers, 1.3/4 A18-49 rating) managed to increase nicely from its lead-in to much more respectable repeat ratings, growing from its lead-in by 1.55 million viewers (37%), 33% among households and 18% among adults 18-49.
  • 10:00 p.m.: A repeat of Numb3rs (4.3/8 HH rating, 6.26M viewers, 1.6/6 A18-49 rating) ended the evening in a solid position for the network, as it was the nights most watched and highest rated program, growing by 8% among houseoholds and viewers and 23% among adults 18-49 from its lead-in.
    • Last week’s numbers (Annual Daytime Emmy Awards – 9:00-11:00 p.m.) :
      • Households – 5.9/11
      • Viewers – 8.33M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.0/7

NBC followed in second place for the evening among households with a 3.1/6 household rating and 4.35 million viewers, but was tied for third among adults 18-49 with a 1.2/4 rating.

    • 5.65M viewers [#2]
    • 1.5/5 A18-49 rating [#2]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of 1 vs. 100 (3.5/7 HH rating, 4.99M viewers, 1.3/5 A18-49 rating) managed to increase slightly from the week prior, growing among all three main categories to take first place for the hour among households and viewers and tied for first among adults 18-49.
    • Last week’s numbers (1 vs. 100-REPEAT):
      • Households – 3.0/6
      • Viewers – 4.44M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.2/5
  • 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of Las Vegas (2.4/5 HH rating, 3.26M viewers, 1.0/4 A18-49 rating) was the weak one out for NBC, posting numbers well below last week’s repeat airing of ‘Criminal Intent’. NBC was off by 2.07 million viewers (35%), 39% among households and 29% among adults 18-49 from last week’s time period.
    • Last week’s numbers (Law & Order: Criminal Intent-REPEAT):
      • Households – 3.7/7
      • Viewers – 5.33M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.4/5
  • 10:00 p.m.: A repeat of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (3.4/7 HH rating, 4.79M viewers, 1.3/5 A18-49 rating) was either hurt from its weak lead-in, or simply just isn’t as strong a repeat performer as its predecessor series in the franchise Law & Order, which performed remarkably better last week (the hour was off by 2.38 million viewers or 33%, 31% among households and 32% among adults 18-49).

      • Households – 4.9/9
      • Viewers – 7.17M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.9/6

ABC finished in third place for the evening with a 2.8/5 household rating but was fourth among viewers with 4.03 million and fifth among adults 18-49 with a 1.1/4 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 2.7/5 HH rating [#3]
    • 3.93M viewers [#4]
    • 1.2/5 A18-49 rating [#t4]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A special showing of the ABC Family hit Kyle XY (2.0/4 HH rating, 2.94M viewers, 0.8/4 A18-49 rating) continued to pace below last year’s run of re-broadcasted episodes, posting very weak numbers, especially in terms of its adults 18-49 audience.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 2.2/5 to 2.0/4
      • Viewers – 3.16M to 2.94M
      • Adults 18-49 – 0.9/4 to 0.8/4
  • 9:00 p.m.: National Bingo Night (2.4/5 HH rating, 3.45M viewers, 0.9/3 A18-49 rating) didn’t do much to overturn last week’s series low ratings, as it hit another low among viewers and adults 18-49.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 2.2/4 to 2.4/5
      • Viewers – 3.51M to 3.45M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.1/4 to 0.9/3
  • 10:00 p.m.: 20/20 (3.9/8 HH rating, 5.69M viewers, 1.5/6 A18-49 rating) posted nearly identical ratings to last week though it did increase a bit among households and viewers. Though the program is off from its usual performance, it managed to increase very impressively from its weak lead-in. It grew by 2.24 million viewers (65%), 62% among households and 67% among adults 18-49.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.6/7 to 3.9/8
      • Viewers – 5.12M to 5.69M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.6/6 to 1.5/6

The CW followed in fourth place for the evening with a 2.6/5 household rating, but was third among viewers with 4.08 million and managed a solid tie for first place among adults 18-49 with a 1.3/5 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 2.4/5 HH rating [#5]
    • 3.73M viewers [#5]
    • 1.1/4 A18-49 rating [#5]
  • 8:00-10:00 p.m.: WWE Smackdown (2.6/5 HH rating, 4.08M viewers, 1.3/5 A18-49 rating) managed to climb back over the 4M mark (though last week it did much better before the finals were released), and with its solid A18-49 performance (up 18% from last week) was able to muster a first place tie for the evening with CBS in the key demo.

      • Households – 2.4/5 to 2.6/5
      • Viewers – 3.73M to 4.08M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.1/4 to 1.3/5

FOX finished in fifth place for the evening among households with a 2.5/5 household rating and among viewers with 3.61 million, but managed a third place tie among adults 18-49 with a 1.2/4 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 2.5/5 HH rating [#4]
    • 3.76M viewers [#4]
    • 1.2/4 A18-49 rating [#4]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of Bones (2.6/5 HH rating, 3.62M viewers, 1.2/4 A18-49 rating) didn’t post numbers much different from last week, but was fairly low overall.
    • Last week’s numbers (Bones-REPEAT):
      • Households – 2.7/6
      • Viewers – 4.02M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.2/5
  • 9:00 p.m.: As was a new episode of Standoff (2.5/5 HH rating, 3.59M viewers, 1.2/4 A18-49 rating), which despite positive retention from its lead-in among adults 18-49 (and slight week-to-week gains) wasn’t able to pull high enough ratings to bring the network out of last place (among English speaking networks of course) for the evening.

      • Viewers – 3.50M to 3.59M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.1/4 to 1.2/4
