Lifetime Renews “Blood Ties”

Lifetime has renewed Blood Ties, its freshman drama about vampires, for a second season.  The network ordered 10 episodes of the hour long show with plans to premiere it in the fall.

Airing Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m., the show has averaged a 1.1 household rating since its March 11 premiere.  The show has cooled though in recent weeks, with the most recent episode delivering a 0.5/1 household rating and 742,000 viewers.

This is an amazing show, which will most likely pick up a ton of viewers thanks to CW’s screw ups in its line-up. Hopefully Lifetime won’t kill this amazing show without giving it at least a full second season…

And say thank you to CW for giving it some new viewers, all the sixteen year old’s need something after VM.

This show is fantastic and the LIFETIME board I am on is really hoping you may have some info. BLOOD TIES – the series based on the Tanya Huff books, hasn’t even reached full potential and it has been one of the top downloads on Itunes. The information we have been able to find is extremely limited and we would like to know more about the show, the lead actors, Kyle Schmid, Christina Cox and Dylan Neal. The cast is fantastic, the dynamic between the 3 lead characters is amazing and it is a well-written show. BLOOD TIES is just about to air in a number of other countries. I and many others have never been addicted to a show/series like we are to this one. This genre is extremely hot and LIFETIME was ahead of the game. We have been sending an astronomical amount of post cards begging for another 22 episodes beyond the original 22 and more seasons. We also have a campaign started called “FANGS 4 MORE BLOOD TIES”, http://www.myspace.com/bloodtiesfans in which we have started sending LIFETIME plastic fangs to show our support and beg for more. We are extremely excited that LIFETIME stepped outside of its comfort zone to tap into another group of viewers.

Please can you give us more about a new series that will be a #1 hit?

    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,
    Linette Miller

  • Hi Linette.

All I know is that the network ordered 12 episodes initially and added another 10 episodes to the original order for a new season. That season will premiere this coming October 12 (11:00 p.m.). It’s too early to say whether or not they’ll go for another season. They’ll make that decision sometime during the next season.

    Hope that helps!

Note: Again, I’m going to cross post these to the article I originally wrote on the show. If you’d like to respond, please do so there. :)

And lastly, as to your question about videos (apologies, I accidentally deleted your comment on videos), I’m not quite sure. My first response would be to just check out a site like YouTube.

    Take care,

    Russ
