Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is coming back from its hiatus. According the official NBC website for the series, the freshman drama will return to the airwaves on Thursday, May 24 at 10:00 p.m.
‘Studio 60′ premiered to solid numbers, but immediately began shedding viewers (as quickly as the second half-hour of the first episode). The last newly aired episode aired on February 19 to the following numbers: 4.0/7 HH rating, 6.11M viewers, 2.4/6 A18-49 rating. That marked a series low among households, viewers and adults 18-49.
Six episodes remain unaired.
The series premiere drew a much more respectable 8.6/14 household rating, 13.41M viewers and a 5.0/13 A18-49 rating.
A decision on the future of the series past year one will be made by the NBC upfronts, but barring an unexpected turn in the ratings, it seems unlikely the show will come back for another season.
The airing on Thursday nights is somewhat important to note as some may remember that the series was originally slated to air Thursday at 9:00 p.m., only to be pulled from the slot and sent to Monday nights when ABC made the decision to air Grey’s Anatomy on the evening.
