Top 10 Box Office for Friday, April 6, 2007

According to preliminary estimates, Paramount/DreamWorks’s Blades of Glory took the top spot Friday for the second straight week, with a solid $9.02M, holding off the Rodriquez/Tarentino (from Weinstein/Dimension) double-feature Grindhouse, which disappointed in fourth place with $5.00M.
Other new releases in the top 10 were paced by Sony/Revolution’s Are We Done Yet? (which opened on Wednesday) in third place with $5.22M, The Reaping, which failed to overcome its incredibly negative press, in fifth place with $3.92M (it opened on Thursday) and in 10th place was Fox’s Firehouse Dog with $1.59M (also released on Wednesday).

Rounding out the top 10 was Meet The Robinsons in second place with $7.02M ($42.26M through 8 days of release), 300 in sixth place with $2.84M ($187.91M through 29 days of release), Wild Hogs was in seventh place finish with $2.38M ($141.00M through 36 days of release), Shooter was in eighth place with $1.96M ($32.82M through 15 days of release) and lastly, TMNT took ninth place with $1.87M ($43.65M through 15 days of release).

Keep in mind, all box office receipts above are estimates.

Blades of Glory had the best per-theater average of any movie in the top 10 taking in an estimated $2,645/per theater out of 3,410 sites.
