Broadcast TV Ratings for the Week Ending 3/25/2007

All networks were down year-to-year (save The CW, but thats based on the average of two networks). CBS managed to overcome ‘Idol’ to take first place across the board for last week.

Before getting into the ratings data, here are a few show highlights (specials, premieres, finales).

On Monday, the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars on ABC danced its way to strong ratings. The series managed to build upon last season’s numbers.

  • Households – 13.7/21 rating, 15.288M
  • Viewers – 7.7 rating, 21.803M
  • Adults 18-49 – 6.4/16 rating, 8.356M

Also on Monday, a special airing of What About Brian had a hard time holding onto the audience from its large lead-in.

  • Households – 4.6/8 rating, 5.090M
  • Viewers – 2.3 rating, 6.428M
  • Adults 18-49 – 2.5/7 rating, 3.265M (estimated)

On Sunday, the season (or perhaps series) finale of Grease: You’re The One The Want That I Want didn’t benefit from any sort of finale push.

  • Households – 4.6/7 rating, 5.070M
  • Viewers – 2.4 rating, 6.907M
  • Adults 18-49 – 2.0/5 rating, 2.612M (estimated)

Compared to the year prior, CBS was down 4% among total households, down 5% among total viewers and down 6% among adults 18-49. FOX was down 4% among total households, down 6% among total viewers and down 12% among adults 18-49. ABC was down 5% among total households, down 7% among total viewers and down 14% among adults 18-49. NBC was down 20% among total households, down 22% among total viewers and down 29% among adults 18-49. And finally The CW was up 5% among total households, up 7% among total viewers and up 14.5% among adults 18-49 (all compared against the averages of The WB and UPN).

CBS was first for the week in households (7.4/12 rating, 8.23 million), total viewers (4.0/11 rating, 11.44 million) and among adults 18-49 (3.5/10 rating, 4.64 million).
