Weekend Box Office — March 16-18, 2007

Warner Bros.’ 300 remained in first place over the weekend, managing to hold off three new releases in the top 10 as it took in $32.88M from 3,270 theaters and passing the $100M mark in its eighth day of release (Friday).

The films total gross now stands at $129.17M through 10 days of release.

Other new releases in the top 10 (actually, all three movies made their way in the top five) were Sony’s Premonition in third place with $17.56M from 2,831, Universal’s Dead Silence in fourth place with $7.84M from 1,805 theaters and Fox Searchlight’s I Think I Love My Wife with $5.67M from 1,776 theaters.

Rounding out the top 10 then were Wild Hogs, which stayed in second place for the second straight week, dropping only 30.9% to take in $19.06M from 3,360 theaters. The movie also passed the $100M mark on Sunday ($104.23M through 17 days of release).

In sixth place was Bridge to Terabithia dropping three spots and a respectable 23.4% (the best holdover in the top 10) with $5.19M from 3,091 theaters ($74.97M through 31 days of release), Ghost Rider dropped three spots and 37.4% to take seventh place with $4.18M from 2,824 theaters ($110.38M through 31 days of release), Zodiac dropped three spots and 50.5% to come in eighth place with $3.29M from 2,362 sites ($29.14M through 17 days of release), Norbit dropped three spots and 35.3% to take ninth place with $2.77M from 2,016 sites ($92.44M through 38 days of release) and lastly Music and Lyrics came in 10th place dropping two spots and 39.3% with a take of $2.27M from 1,850 theaters ($47.45M through 33 days of release).

The best per theater average in the top 10 went to 300, which averaged $10,054 per theater.What follows below is the top 10 chart (Actuals) for the weekend.
