Scorsese’s Next Picture To Be A Family Film?

Hit filmmaker Martin Scorsese, who is nominated for an Oscar for his directing on The Departed, may helm a movie based on the Brian Selznick bestselling children’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret.

Warner Bros. recently acquired the rights. The adaption will be done by screenwriter John Logan, who most recently worked with Scorsese on The Aviator (which he wrote) and will work in the same capacity for this adaption.

Brian Selznick’s novel is about a 12-year-old orphan who lives in the walls of a Paris train station in 1930 and a mystery involving the boy, his late father and a robot.

  • Duh….my quick reading missed the “Source: Variety” part of the post….interesting.
