Broadcast TV Ratings for Friday, February 16, 2007

CBS wins the evening, with the nights highest rated and most watched program (Ghost Whisperer).

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 7.2/13 household rating, 10.83 million total viewers and a 2.9/9 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 7.1/12 HH rating [#1]
    • 10.93M viewers [#1]
    • 3.1/9 A18-49 [#1]
  • 8:00 p.m.: Ghost Whisperer (7.7/14 HH rating, 11.40M viewers, 3.2/11 A18-49 rating) got CBS off to a great start and was the nights highest rated program across the three main categories.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 7.1/12 to 7.7/14
      • Viewers – 11.08M to 11.40M
      • Adults 18-49 – 3.4/11 to 3.2/11
  • 9:00 p.m.: Close to Home (7.0/12 HH rating, 10.42M viewers, 2.4/7 A18-49 rating) stayed consistent from the week prior among households and viewers, but suffered a slight dip among adults 18-49 (down 11%).  Even still, it tied for first among the key demo.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 6.9/12 to 7.0/12
      • Viewers – 10.47M to 10.42M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.7/8 to 2.4/7
  • 10:00 p.m.: Numb3rs (7.0/12 HH rating, 10.66M viewers, 3.0/9 A18-49 rating) was also down slightly from the week prior, though it managed to regain some of the A18-49 viewers that its lead-in lost.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 7.3/12 to 7.0/12
      • Viewers – 11.23M to 10.66M
      • Adults 18-49 – 3.3/10 to 3.0/9

NBC followed in second place for the evening with a 5.6/10 household rating, 8.79 million total viewers and a 2.6/8 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 6.0/10 HH Rating [#2]
    • 9.40M viewers [#2]
    • 2.7/8 A18-49 rating [#2]
  • 8:00 p.m.: 1 vs. 100 (5.9/10 HH rating, 9.35M viewers, 2.6/8 A18-49 rating) was took second place for the time period, basically even from the week prior, though slightly up among adults 18-49.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 6.0/10 to 5.9/10
      • Viewers – 9.48M to 9.35M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.5/9 to 2.6/8
  • 9:00 p.m.: Las Vegas (5.1/9 HH rating, 8.06M viewers, 2.4/7 A18-49 rating) dived off some from the week prior, dropping 1.08M viewers, 14% among households and 17% among adults 18-49.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 5.9/10 to 5.1/9
      • Viewers – 9.14M to 8.06M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.9/9 to 2.4/7
  • 10:00 p.m.: Law & Order (6.0/10 HH rating, 8.96M viewers, 2.6/8 A18-49 rating) lost some of its audience from the week prior, as it was second for the hour against Numb3rs.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Houseoholds – 6.3/11 to 6.0/10
      • Viewers – 9.62M to 8.96M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.6/8 to 2.6/8

ABC finished in third place for the evening with a 4.3/7 household rating, 6.30 million total viewers and a 2.2/7 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 5.0/9 HH rating [#3]
    • 7.39M viewers [#3]
    • 2.6/8 A18-49 rating [#3]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of the Super Bowl episode of Grey’s Anatomy (3.3/6 HH rating, 4.97M viewers, 1.7/6 A18-49 rating) performed weaker than last week.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 4.6/8 to 3.3/6
      • Viewers – 6.59M to 4.97M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.4/8 to 1.7/6
  • 9:00 p.m.: The second part of the episode of Grey’s Anatomy (3.9/6 HH rating, 5.69M viewers, 2.2/6 A18-49 rating) ticked up some, but was still down from the time period occupant last week.
    • Week-to-week numbers (vs. 20/20):
      • Households – 4.5/8 to 3.9/6
      • Viewers – 6.75M to 5.69M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.5/7 to 2.2/6
  • 10:00 p.m.: 20/20 (5.6/10 HH rating, 8.33M viewers, 2.7/8 A18-49 rating) posted the alphabet’s best numbers for the evening.  Though it was down from last week (which was a Anna Nicole Smith special) it was on par with its average numbers.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 6.0/10 to 5.6/10
      • Viewers – 8.81M to 8.33M
      • Adults 18-49 – 3.1/9 to 2.7/8

Fox followed in fourth place for the evening with a 3.1/5 household rating, 4.75 million total viewers and a 2.1/6 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 3.0/5 HH rating [#t4]
    • 4.52M viewers [#5]
    • 2.0/6 A18-49 rating [#4]
  • 8:00 p.m.: Nanny 911 (3.1/5 HH rating, 4.53M viewers, 1.9/6 A18-49 rating) managed to tick up slightly from the week prior.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 2.8/5 to 3.1/5
      • Viewers – 4.26M to 4.53M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.7/6 to 1.9/6
  • 9:00 p.m.: Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (3.2/5 HH rating, 4.96M viewers, 2.2/7 A18-49 rating) drew similiar ratings to last week.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.2/6 to 3.2/5
      • Viewers – 4.79M to 4.96M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.2/7 to 2.2/7

The CW finished in fifth place with a 2.9/5 household rating, 4.72 million total viewers and a 1.6/5 rating among adults 18-49.

  • Last Week:
    • 3.0/5 HH rating [#t4]
    • 4.82M viewers [#4]
    • 1.6/5 A18-49 rating [#5]
  • 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.: WWE Smackdown (2.9/5 HH rating, 4.72M viewers, 1.6/5 A18-49 rating) continues to be a solid performer for the CW, staying relatively even from the week prior.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.0/5 to 2.9/5
      • Viewers – 4.82M to 4.72M
      • Adults 18-49 – 1.6/5 to 1.6/5
