Top 10 Box Office for Friday, February 2, 2007

According to preliminary estimates, Sony’s The Messenger took the top spot on Friday with $5.91M million in its first day of release.
The only other new entry in the top 10 was Universal’s Because I Said So at number two with $4.66M.

Rounding out the top five was Epic Movie in third place with $2.67M ($23.81M through 8 days of release), Smokin’ Aces in fourth with $2.20M ($20.83M through 8 days of release) and Night in the Museum in fifth place with $1.72M ($220.33M through 43 days of release).

The Messenger had the best per-theater average of any movie in the top 10 with $2,336/per theater out of 2,528 sites.
