Broadcast TV Ratings for Saturday, January 20, 2007

CBS takes a slow Saturday night among households and total viewers, while Fox takes the win among adults 18-49.

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 4.4/8 household rating and 6.66 million total viewers but was tied for second among adults 18-49 with a 1.6/5 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 5.2/9 HH rating [#2]
    • 7.62M viewers [#2]
    • 2.0/6 A18-49 [#2]
  • 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of Cold Case (4.1/8 HH rating, 6.35M viewers, 1.3/4 A18-49 rating).
  • 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of Numb3rs (4.1/7 HH rating, 6.28M viewers, 1.4/4 A18-49 rating).
  • 10:00 p.m.: A new 48 Hours Mystery (4.9/9 HH rating, 7.35M viewers, 2.1/7 A18-49 rating) was the network’s top rated performer on the night, and the evenings most watched and highest rated show.

Fox followed in second place for the evening with a 4.2/7 household rating and 6.37 million total viewers but was a stonger first among adults 18-49 with a 2.3/7 rating.

  • 8:00 p.m.: A new episode of Cops (3.6/6 HH rating, 5.60M viewers, 2.1/7 A18-49 rating) was outperformed by a repeat (4.0/7 HH rating, 6.29M viewers, 2.3/7 A18-49 rating) immediately following. The repeat was tied for first place on the evening among adults 18-49.
  • 9:00 p.m.: America’s Most Wanted (4.5/8 HH rating, 6.79M viewers, 2.3/7 A18-49 rating) was tied for among adults 18-49.

ABC finished in third place for the evening with a 3.9/7 household rating, 6.02 million total viewers and tied for second with CBS among adults 18-49 with a 1.6/5 rating.

NBC finished in fourth place for the evening with a 3.4/6 household rating, 5.16 million total viewers and a 1.3/4 rating among adults 18-49.

  • 8:00 p.m.: An hour of Dateline (3.6/6 HH rating, 5.47M viewers, 1.4/4 A18-49 rating).

      • Households – 5.8/10 to 5.7/10
      • Viewers – 9.29M to 8.98M
      • A18-49 – 2.8/9 to 2.5/8
  • 9:00 p.m.: Perhaps trying to get a bit more exposure for the series, NBC aired a repeat of Crossing Jordan (2.5/4 HH rating, 3.67M viewers, 0.9/3 A18-49 rating), which debuted its sixth season last Sunday to number well below its normal average.
  • 10:00 p.m.: A repeat of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (4.2/8 HH rating, 6.34M viewers, 1.7/5 A18-49 rating) was the networks highest rated show and grew nicely out of its weak lead-in.
