Broadcast TV Ratings for Saturday, November 11, 2006

CBS won another slow Saturday in households, viewers and adults 18-49 thanks in large part to its lineup of CSI repeats.


CBS finished in first for the evening with a 5.5/10 HH rating (8.28M viewers), and a 2.1/7 A18-49 rating.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 5.9/11 HH rating [#1]
    • 8.63M viewers [#1]
    • 2.4/8 A18-49 rating [#1]
  • At 8:00 PM, a repeat of “CSI: NY” (5.1/10 HH rating, 7.65M viewers, 1.8/6 A18-49 rating) dipped a little bit from last week’s presentation of a CSI: Miami episode.
    • Week-to-week time-period numbers (“CSI: Miami”):
      • Households – 5.4/10 to 5.1/10
      • Viewers – 8.00M to 7.65M
      • A18-49 – 2.0/7 to 1.8/6
  • At 9:00 PM, a repeat of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (6.1/11 HH rating, 9.04M viewers, 2.2/7 A18-49 rating) stayed pretty even in households and viewers and only showed a loss in adults 18-49 (where it was down about 15%). It was the nights highest rated show in households and viewers.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 6.1/11 to 6.1/11
      • Viewers – 9.00M to 9.04M
      • A18-49 – 2.6/8 to 2.2/7
  • At 10:00 PM, a new “48 Hours Mystery” (5.5/10 HH rating, 8.16M viewers, 2.4/8 A18-49 rating) ended the evening for the Eye as the highest rated program in adults 18-49.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 6.3/12 to 5.5/10
      • Viewers – 8.90M to 8.16M
      • A18-49 – 1.8/6 to 2.4/8

NBC followed in second with a 4.5/8 HH rating (6.64M viewers) but was third in adults 18-49 delivering a 1.9/6 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 3.8/7 HH rating [#3]
    • 5.27M viewers [#3]
    • 1.6/5 A18-49 rating [#3]
  • From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, “Dateline NBC: To Catch A Predator” (4.1/7 HH rating, 6.09M viewers, 1.8/6) showed good growth from last week.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.7/7 to 4.1/7
      • Viewers – 5.03M to 6.09M
      • A18-49 – 1.7/6 to 1.8/6
  • At 10:00 PM, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (5.5/10 HH rating, 7.74M viewers, 2.0/7) showed a strong increase from last week in households and viewers en route to the highest rated numbers for NBC on the evening.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 4.4/8 to 5.5/10
      • Viewers – 6.20M to 7.74M
      • A18-49 – 1.9/6 to 2.0/7

FOX finished in third for the evening with a 3.5/6 HH rating (5.69M viewers) and was second in adults 18-49 delivering a 2.0/6 rating in that demo.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 4.0/7 HH rating [#2]
    • 6.39M viewers [#2]
    • 2.3/7 A18-49 rating [#2]
  • From 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Fox aired two episodes of “Cops” (3.6/6 HH rating, 5.81M viewers, 2.1/7 A18-49 rating) and scored numbers fairly even with the numbers from last week.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.6/7 to 3.6/6
      • Viewers – 6.10M to 5.81M
      • A18-49 – 2.2/7 to 2.1/7
  • At 10:00 PM, “America’s Most Wanted” (3.5/6 HH rating, 5.67M viewers, 2.0/6 A18-49 rating) had a noticeable loss from the week before.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 4.3/8 to 3.5/6
      • Viewers – 6.69M to 5.67M
      • A18-49 – 2.4/7 to 2.0/6

ABC followed in fourth with a 3.4/6 HH rating (5.28M viewers) and a 1.8/6 A18-49 rating.

  • Last Week’s Numbers:
    • 3.2/6 HH rating [#4]
    • 4.91M viewers [#4]
    • 1.5/5 A18-49 rating [#4]
  • From 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, ABC aired “ESPN on ABC College Football” (3.4/6 HH rating, 5.28M viewers, 1.8/6) grew slightly from last week’s ratings but still wasn’t enough to take ABC out of fourth place on the evening. Depending on your regional location, you either viewed the match up of Texas @ Kansas State (56% of the nation) or Wake Forest @ Florida State (46% of the nation).
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 3.2/6 to 3.4/6
      • Viewers – 4.91M to 5.28M
      • A18-49 – 1.5/5 to 1.8/6
