Fall 2006 New Show Ratings [Update]

Here are the results of a few of the new show openings this week:

Update: Here are the results for Thursday’s new show.

Ugly Betty

Averaged a 10.7/17 HH Rating with a 4.9/14 A18-49 rating (16.09M viewers). A very good start for this show and it easily slid past the other new Thursday show on ABC; Six Degrees. Another positive sign was its amazing growth among A18-49 in its second half-hour, going from a 4.2 to a 5.6. It joins only NBC’s Heroes and CBS’s Jericho as new shows to have built their audience in the second half-hour.

Here are the ratings for the two new shows that aired on Monday and the one new show that aired on Tuesday of this week.

Averaged a 8.8/13 HH Rating with a 5.9 A18-49 rating (2nd for new series behind the 6.0 of Brothers & Sisters) (14.29M viewers). A very good start for this Sci-Fi show, especially in terms of A18-49. Another positive sign, and often a sign that the show will be around for a while, was its second half-hour growth in A18-49 (from a 5.6 to 6.3).

Averaged a 1.5/2 HH Rating with a 0.7 A18-49 rating (2.35M viewers). This is a very poor start for the show. It lost almost half of the audience of its lead-in (7th Heaven – 4.36M viewers) and in the networks key demo, A18-34, it also lost half of its lead-in delivering only a 0.9 in the demo.

Help Me Help You

Averaged a 8.0/12 HH Rating with a 3.6 A18-49 rating (11.93M viewers). That ties it for first in A18-49 with The Class for new comedies this season. It’s a high rating, but there was a significant loss of viewership from Dancing’s last hour (20.44M to 11.93M), so that might be some cause for concern. Then again, it did place second in total viewers for the period behind The Unit so I suppose it’s a good news/bad news situation.
